No. At the push of a button the electric motor takes care of all the climbing work. Guiding the machine requires very little strength.

What is the maximum permitted height and depth of a step?
The steps should be at least 11 cm/4.3" deep and not higher that 20 cm/8". A higher-step model is available, if required.

What if I have a step greater than 20 cm/8"?
We can provide a place-in intermediate step in most situations.

Can the Scalamobil also be used outside the house?
Yes, it can be used on all kinds of steps whether outdoors or in public buildings. It can be dismantled into three parts making it easy to transport in a car boot.
