The Trekinetic GTE Ultra Lightweight Powerchair has just come on to the market and – as you would expect – it is every bit as exciting and innovative as its manual counterpart.

The new GTE Ultra Lightweight Powerchair has 3 great advantages:

1) It can be transformed into 3 transportable parts in less than 60 seconds

2)  It has off-road as well as home and city capability and doesn’t need a converted vehicle in which to transport it. You can go where you like, when you like!

3) It weighs only around 34 kg - that's a third of many other power chairs.

Following Trekinetic’s ethos of elegance through enhanced functionality and practicality, the unique front wheel drive GTE offers something truly new, namely, a capable, comfortable on- and off-road wheelchair that can be disassembled in less than a minute, then placed in any car, not just a converted one.

Most conventional power chairs have motors and batteries under the seat and can’t easily be dismantled. Even when possible, the centre portion is a heavy lift with batteries and motors. Trekinetic’s approach is to have lighter but no less powerful motors positioned inside each of the big front wheels. The wheels are quick release and can be removed almost as quickly as those on a conventional wheelchair.
